I am such a fan of HGTV and was finally determined to take down the walls of mirrors in the living room. Taking down the wall to wall mirrors was a challenge to say the least. At one point I put a helmet on because I was afraid I was going to get hurt!
It took us weeks to do and the walls didn’t look TOO bad once the mirrors came off. With a little bit of elbow grease and lots of sanding, the walls were finally ready for priming and painting. I’m in love with the taupe color we picked out – it goes well with our teal and purple theme. We changed all of the window treatments, replaced the light fixture in the dining room and we put in some thick trim. I love thick trim, it reminds me of houses by the beach. I now have a nice new area to do makeup in!
I definitely think that all the hard work paid off and I’m glad we don’t have to clean those darn mirrors anymore or try to explain why we have a living room of mirrors to people! One of the mirrors had the date of 1983 on it – I thought for sure it would be the 70′s cause they had to be smoking something to think those mirrors were a good idea!
Next up – gutting the downstairs bathroom! But we’re taking a little break for now
