The dress that was provided to us courtesy of The Frock Shop was so classy and a little bit vintage that we had to rock it out a bit.  The flowers that Kristen of Kio Kreations created were filled with all different shades of pinks, purples and blues and accented with feathers and lace.  It was my favorite bouquet from the shoot!  We rocked KC out with a dark purple smokey eye inspired by the flowers, we the defined eyebrows and kept the lips pale to draw attention to the eyes and not compete with them. The hairpiece that Megan Lim created was perfect and adorable to use on any day besides your wedding day.

Danielle is just gorgeous to begin with and vintage was one of the looks I was looking forward to the most.  I had originally planned to do a very classic Marilyn look but when I saw the wedding dress and the amazing bouquet that Kristen from Kio created, I was inspired to change it up.  I pulled the coral color that I saw in the flowers and intensified it in the lip color.  Mary Kate rocked out the hair with some waves and a cute feather hair piece finished the look.  Danielle was great in front of the camera, she was recently married so she’s had a little bit of practice ;)   Kara also found the spot for the shoot (besides taking incredible pictures!) and it was in the last spot I would of picked but boy she was SO right!  More looks to come!  Enjoy!

Photoshoot Sneak Peek!

July 16, 2010

I had the pleasure of working with Kara Schultz – Photographer, The Frock Shop (dress rentals), Kio Kreations (floral) and Megan Lim Jewelry on a photoshoot a few weeks ago.  We did 6 different wedding themes and here is a sneak peek of 3 of the looks we did – Rocker, Simple Chic and Vintage.  We had so much fun working on this shoot and can’t wait to show you all the pics.  I will be updating the blog on each of the themes with details in the next few weeks.  Thanks to my girls for the hair and makeup assistance!

Leslie’s wedding colors are right on trend.  Coral is THE color for makeup this year and Leslie was way ahead of the game when she picked out her wedding colors.  She didn’t even realize how trendy she was being, she just liked coral.  I was so excited when she told me her color scheme and I had a clear vision for the makeup before I even started on her trial.  Leslie doesn’t wear much makeup at all on a daily basis but wanted to look natural yet elegant on her wedding day.

Leslie’s makeup consisted of some faux lashes, shimmery champagne eyeshadow with a bit of shadowing and creamy peach blush.  Her lashes were already prepared in advance because she got them tinted at a salon and boy it made SUCH a difference, the faux lashes I applied just enhanced her eyes a little bit more.  Not to mention that Leslie has gorgeous eyes to begin with.  I also carried on the peach/coral makeup accents with the bridesmaids as well by using a peach blush and light color lip.

Her wedding was gorgeous and for someone being so quiet, she sure knows how to work a camera!  They got married at St. Peter and Paul in downtown naperville and their reception was at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge.

Congrats Leslie and Paul!  Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wonderful day.

This picture was actually sent to me from a photographer.  When I saw it, I think my jaw dropped to the floor!  That is makeup all over the grooms jacket AND she paid a salon to do it.  I’m sure it was a pretty hot or humid day for that much makeup to transfer but if she had gotten airbrushed, this wouldn’t happen.  I feel really bad for both the bride and groom :(   Ladies, do your research on airbrush, you need it for your big day!!
